Laura Frey

Laura has spent the last 10 years at the nexus of impact investing, innovation, and international development. She’s a firm believer that innovation comes from anywhere, and that diverse teams outperform ones that are not.

As COO & CoFounder of Change Catalyst, Laura is passionate about catalyzing inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems and creating financial vehicles around social missions with financial returns. This marks her third venture, where the previous ones were in tourism and microfinance based in Costa Rica.

Prior to joining Change Catalyst, she was part of building Chile’s venture capital ecosystem. Laura joined a Chilean Venture Capital firm to invest in and scale early stage technology companies throughout Latin America, focused on consumer internet & mobile, SAAS, and digital marketing sectors. During this time she also served as a judge for Startup Chile, an innovative program to bootstrap global startups in Santiago and expose the region to new models, talent, and networks.

Laura has also advised impact investment funds and banks within Latin America and Emerging markets on investment strategy, impact metrics, fundraising, and fund development at Acumen Fund (India), Grassroots Business Fund (Bolivia), Sitawi Social Fund (Brazil), and Grupo Financiero Banorte (Mexico).
